One day I'm going to replace all consumer facing ASP.NET with Mootools and Mocha UI. What I will gain is a simple, smooth user interface that makes sense. What I have now is a bunch of broken bricks in a pile that the user gets to dig around in.

What you will gain will be no "less stratified" than any DotNet code you can create. What you will end-up creating doesn't hide or encapsulate code any better. And...is less easier to support because MooTools is an obscure "framework toolset" and equivolizes to JavaScript Hell.
Those are different things. Mootools are more like a tool FOR telerik than to REPLACE telerik
